Wholemeal Buns

Wholemeal buns
6 oz wholemeal flour, half a teaspoon of salt, half an oz yeast, 1 teaspoon sugar, small amount of warm milk,
2 oz melted butter, 1 egg.
add the yeast to warm water to froth up. Mix the salt with the flour. Warm the milk.
To the flour add yeast, sugar, milk, butter and beaten egg. Knead together and leave to rise
for a couple of hours or until it doubles in size.
Knead again, form into buns and allow to rise again.
Preheat oven to gas mark 8, 230C. Shape the buns and place in centre of the oven on a greased tray.
After ten to fifteen minutes, reduce the heat to gas mark 4, 180C. Leave for another 20 to thirty minutes.
