Recipe for Welsh Cakes

Welsh Cakes

You will need :
500g self raising flour
250g butter,
150g sugar,
Spices to taste. Dried fruit such as raisins, sultanas.
Rub the butter into the flour, then add the sugar, spices and fruit.
Beat an egg and add the egg to the mix
Add a tiny drop of water to make a stiff dough. Do not chill but roll out immediately and cut into circles.
Heat a flat griddle pan on the stove. When the pan is nice and hot, cook the Welsh Cakes on top. Cook dry, there is no need to add oil.
Toss in sugar.
Delicious.
