Upside down apple cake

Upside down apple cake
For the Cake mix you'll need;
4oz butter
2 oz soft sugar,4oz self raising flour, a teaspoon of baking powder, 2 eggs.
For the Base; 1oz butter, 1oz sugar, 2 peeled and sliced apples.
preheat oven to gas mark 6, or 200C
Cream the butter and sugar together by beating them with a wooden spoon. Add the flour and baking powder
Now Add two eggs and beat again to form a paste.
Heat 1 oz butter in an oven proof frying pan. When the butter starts to melt add the sugar and stir occasionally to form a toffee.
Toss the apple segments in the toffee to coat them. Pour the cake mix over the top and smooth it out.
Bake in the pre-heated oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
Now watch it disappear.
